Commercial Salting & De-Icing
De-icing is the part of a snow contract that shows up in a lawsuit. Every application here is matched to the surface and the temperature, applied ahead of the storm when the forecast allows, and logged with the time and product.
A flat seasonal price from your address and photos, confirmed on a quick site check before the first snowfall — the number does not move mid-winter.
What this covers
- Bulk rock salt on lots and drive aisles
- Ice-melt blends on entrances, walkways and ramps
- Pre-treatment before forecast freezing rain
- Standalone ice events outside snowfall triggers
- Application log: time, product, surfaces
How it works
- 1Surfaces and thresholds set on the site walk
- 2Per application or fixed-season pricing on the quote
- 3Applied after clearing and on ice events
- 4Logged and available to the manager
Why this page exists
Timing beats product. Pre-treating a walkway before ice bonds to it does more than any amount of salt after. The contract allows pre-treatment on forecast, so the walk is safe at opening, not by mid-morning.
What affects the price
- Area of lot vs walkway surfaces
- Rock salt vs ice-melt blend
- Per application vs fixed season
- Number of ice events in the winter
Frequently asked
- Why is salting priced separately from plowing?
- Because a bad ice year can double the applications. Per application keeps the price honest. If you would rather budget one number, a fixed-season option is on the quote too.
